Maggie Valley
Maggie Valley is one of the highest valleys on the east of the Mississippi River. The altitude gives Maggie Valley a true fours season climate like New England. Cool summer nights are a welcome escape from the heat of the south. The climate also creates an environment that allows winter sports including snow skiing at Cataloochee Ski Area. Maggie Valley is known as the gateway to the Smokies, with the Blue Ridge Parkway easily accessible including the highest point on the parkway. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is also just a short Drive away. One of the most visited parks in the country, the park offers numerous chances to step out of your car and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of both North Carolina and Tennessee.
